MY FUTURE’S SO BRIGHT . . . .

I’ve gotta wear shades!
I have divided this post into several sections, to simply and easily guide you through the lasting styles, the fads, and the designers you can count on. Look fantastic and protect those perfect peepers, gals!

Here are the styles you can always rely on, as they are timeless and flatter most any face shape:
  1. Aviators

  2. Oversize Black

  3. Shield - An alternative to the Aviator, these sleek frames provide excellent visibility. Check out Armani Exchange's rimless take at left. Btw, all A/X sunglasses are under a hundred dollars, and quite chic! Check out armaniexchange.com for more!

The TRENDS this season are:

  • Oversize "Sally Jesse" style glasses; they need not be red like the originals -- see Proenza Schouler white plastic frames at upper right

  • Wayfarers or other chunky frames in Acid Hues – the more comic-book, the better (see Christian Dior's 60s Sunglasses in turquoise, below right)

The BEST Shades on the Market:
Oliver Peoples
Ray Ban

Designers who Make Excellent Sunglasses:

  • Chanel
  • Chloe
  • Emporio Armani
  • Fendi
  • Gucci
  • Michael Kors

Since we’re always losing or scratching our sunglasses anyway, it is perfectly acceptable to opt for some cheaper pairs, provided they have complete UV protection!
For Less $$ Alternatives, Try:

  • Isaac Mizrahi for Target
  • Delia*s or Alloy (catalogs designed for teens, I realize - but I still shop them!)
